Veterinary Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology and the ability to handle various species with care and professionalism.


Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor and record animal health status, including vital signs and behavior.
  • Provide proper handling and restraint of animals during examinations and treatments.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including kennels and treatment areas.
  • Utilize dental terminology to assist with dental procedures.
  • Participate in animal husbandry practices to ensure the well-being of all animals in care.


Skills

  • Proficient in exotic pet handling techniques to ensure safety for both the technician and the animal.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to veterinary practices.
  • Strong understanding of exotic animal husbandry principles for effective care management.
  • Experience in veterinary settings with a focus on exotic animal handling skills.
  • Familiarity with exotic pet care is a plus for those interested in working with exotics.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of animal physiology in practical situations.
  • Previous 2 experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EzyVet or Vet Radar is a plus!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. A passion for animal care and a strong understanding of veterinary practices are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, exotic pet care, and appointment availability.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
  • Educate clients on proper exotic pet care, vaccination schedules, and preventive health measures.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide excellent patient care and client service.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Must demonstrate compassion for animals and their owners while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Familiarity with EzyVet or Vet Radar is a bonus!
